Memory Cells

The Biography

Memory Cells formed in January 1999, jamming for the first time in a small bedroom in a council house in Ringsend, Dublin. Just over 2 years later, May 2001, the band came to an end at the close of a Belfast show. They were, Anthony Carroll, Stephen Rennicks and Adrienne Flynn. Their music was largely instrumental improvisation. They made two albums, 'Night' (2000) and 'We Have Found the New Jerusalem' (2001). They made one film and soundtrack, 'No People Here'(2000). The title's mentioned to this point came out on their own label, Ancient Records. Outside a collaboration, they only played one Memory Cells show, see above. They were featured on a split 7" on the Road-Relish label, (2001, no.7). A collaborative track with The Wormholes can be found on the compilation 'Poisonhats'(2001).

At time of writing(April 2003), the current musical activities of the members are as follows. Stephen is making electronic music as Secret Society. Anthony continues to be a member of The Wormholes and is also involved with Adrienne in a new band called The Look.
